Support Engineer

Location: Dublin 6

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a Support Engineer to join our growing Technical Support team. The successful candidate will focus on solving 2nd line problem investigation and custom client tasks. Xtremepush is a fast growing tech start-up, headquartered in Dublin. To thrive in this exciting environment we imagine the Support Engineer to be a proactive and driven individual, who excels at understanding and communicating complex technical solutions.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Lead the Technical Support Service for our multichannel platform
  • Provide technical user support, primarily via email
  • Investigate, test, and resolve technical problems
  • Explain complex technical solutions to 1st line support team members
  • Assist with technical consultation during pre-sale when necessary
  • Assist with writing technical documentation
  • Test new platform features and updates
  • Communicate best practices to clients, particularly for data handling
  • Identify product enhancements that will carry high value for the users
  • Some weekend cover might be necessary
  • Occasional travel might be required

Required Qualifications

  • Educated to a degree level in a technical subject, ideally software engineering
  • 1+ year experience in a software support role
  • Strong programming skills, preferably PHP and JavaScript
  • Strong knowledge of database use, analytics, and SQL
  • Good understanding of web technologies; HTML and CSS
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex technical solutions to non-technical people
  • Can work on own initiative, ‘can do’ attitude
  • Logical problem solver
  • Strong interest in marketing technologies
  • A team player that thrives when working as part of a team

Nice-to-have

  • Experience using Python
  • Web services knowledge – REST, SOAP
  • AWS
  • Mobile app development experience (iOS and Android)
  • SaaS/PaaS experience
  • Understanding of GTM
  • Technical writing experience
  • 1st Line support experience
